Image via Yuji Iwasaki X (formerly Twitter) account A new JUJUTSU KAISEN spin-off manga, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo , launched in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump issue 41 today, featuring the story by original manga author Gege Akutami and art by Yuji Iwasaki ( Cipher Academy ). The manga also launched in English on the Shonen Jump and MANGA Plus apps. In comments provided about the launch of the new manga , Akutami described the spin-off as "a short-term, compact serialization. It will be about a half-year of work (if not canceled), and around three volumes." Alongside the launch of the manga, the JUJUTSU KAISEN official accounts announced that a new spin-off novel by horror writer Yumeaki Hirayama is in production . The original JUJUTSU KAISEN manga by Akutami ran from March 2018 to September 2024 in Weekly Shonen Jump, for a total of 30 volumes. The JUJUTSU KAISEN anime aired its first season from October 2020 to March 2021, with Sunghoo Park directing at MAPPA. Sunghoo Park also directed the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 anime movie, which premiered in 2021. The second season aired from July to December 2023, with Shota Goshozono leading as director. Shota Goshozono will direct the upcoming JUJUTSU KAISEN The Culling Game at studio MAPPA, with Hiroshi Seko writing the series composition alongside Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa on character design and Yoshimasa Teuri composing the music, all returning from the second season of JUJUTSU KAISEN . Crunchyroll will stream the new season when it premieres in January 2026 . Crunchyroll is currently streaming both seasons and the anime movie, and describes the main series as such: Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life.
