Japan Box Office: JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution Compilation Film Ranks No.7 in 4th Weekend

JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution was the highest ranking Japanese anime film of the weekend of November 28-30, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha . The compilation film went down three positions from last weekend to seventh in its fourth weekend. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle ranked eighth in its 20th weekend. The film's cumulative total domestic gross reached 38.33 billion yen (246.5 million USD) in 136 days since its release in Japan on July 18, according to Oricon News . It is now approximately 2.42 billion yen (15.6 million USD) away from surpassing the record set by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train , which released in October 2020 and achieved the highest Japanese domestic box office revenue in history with 40.75 billion yen (262 million USD). Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc ranked tenth in its 11th weekend, five places down from last weekend. The Chainsaw Man franchise's official X (formerly Twitter) reported on December 1 that the movie now has a 73-day cumulative of 9.2 billion yen (59 million USD) on 6.05 million admissions. The film is also now in 65th place in Japan's all-time ranking , surpassing Studio Ghibli's 2010 film The Secret World of Arrietty with 9.26 billion yen (59.5 million USD). After making a third-place debut last weekend, Mamoru Hosoda's latest anime feature film Scarlet ( Hateshinaki Scarlet in Japan) quickly fell out of the weekend box office ranking Top 10 in its second weekend. His previous film, Belle , remained in the Top 10 for 14 consecutive weekends in 2021 , including three weeks at number one . Belle also became the highest-grossing film in Hosoda's career with a total domestic gross of 6.6 billion yen (42.5 million USD).
