Japan Box Office: Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback Movie Moves to No. 4 in 8th Weekend

Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback went down two places to fourth in its eighth weekend of June 6-8, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha . The 28th Detective Conan/Case Closed anime feature film grossed 223 million yen (1.54 million USD) from 148,000 viewers, down 35.5% from last weekend . This has brought the movie's total to 13.7 billion yen (94.77 million USD) with 9.46 million admissions since its release on April 18. One-eyed Flashback now ranks #22 in the all-time box office ranking in Japan , overtaking Bohemian Rhapsody in 2018 and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982. It has also become the 14th top-grossing Japanese anime film of all-time, just underneath JUJUTSU KAISEN 0, which earned 13.8 billion yen (95.46 million USD) in 2022. JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie , a new compilation film from the JUJUTSU KAISEN anime franchise, went one position down in its second weekend and placed fifth. A live-action film adaptation of Tomoki Izumi's horror manga series Mieruko-chan opened in 319 theaters on June 6, making a seventh-place debut. The film also ranked sixth in Filmarks' first-day satisfaction ranking with an average rating of 3.87/5.0 based on 892 reviews. Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: TABOO NIGHT XXXX , the latest third concert film in the Uta no Prince-sama anime franchise, moved one place up to eighth in its fifth weekend. Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan: At a Confessional , a new live-action film adaptation of an episode from Hirohiko Araki's Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe manga series, fell to ninth in its third weekend. The live-action film adaptation of Akiko Higashimura's ( Princess Jellyfish , Tokyo Tarareba Girls ) autobiographical josei manga series Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist's Journey (known as Kakukaku Shikajika in Japan) ranked 10th in its fourth weekend, three spots down from the previous weekend. The fourth feature film edition of voice actor Takuya Eguchi's travel-themed TV show, Eguchi Takuya no Oretachi Datte Iyasaretai! ("Takuya Eguchi's We want to be healed too!"), opened in 14 theaters on June 6, ranking #2 in Kogyo Tsushinsha's mini-theater ranking . The show started airing in Japan in January 2016 and ran for four seasons until March 2019. The fourth and last installment in the film series features Eguchi and two of his fellow voice actors — Kotaro Nishiyama and Souma Saito — following their trip to Kagawa Prefecture.
