Japan Box Office: Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK Compilation Film Revival Screening Ranks at No.9

The revival screening of Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK — a compilation film of the two-part Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS anime episodes — ranked ninth at the Japanese weekend box office for the weekend of January 16-18, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha . The original version of Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK released in Japan on November 18, 2024, and ranked in first place in its opening weekend . The 144-minute film earned 1.45 billion yen (9.16 million USD) from its initial run. To commemorate its first anniversary, the film's Dolby Cinema version — the first in the series — had an advance release in ten selected theaters starting January 9, and the standard, 4DX, MX4D, and Dolby Atmos versions followed in a total of 148 theaters across Japan on January 16. After disappearing from the Top 10 for the first time last weekend , Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc returned to 10th place in its 18th weekend. The film has earned 10.37 billion yen (65.54 million USD) in 122 days since its release and reached 47th place in Japan's all-time ranking , surpassing The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) and Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (2021). Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle dropped out of the Top 10 for the second time in its 27th weekend. The film's 185-day total domestic gross now stands at 39.08 billion yen (247 million USD). The late Satoshi Kon's 2006 anime film Paprika had stayed in first place in Kogyo Tsushinsha's mini-theater ranking now for three consecutive weekends. The special 4K screening to celebrate the film's 20th anniversary has been in 28 theaters since January 2. Ensemble Stars!! DREAM LIVE -9th Tour "Trapezium #Orion also ranked fifth in the mini-theater ranking in its first weekend. This is a screening of the newly edited version of the virtual concert held by the Ensemble Stars characters at Makuhari Messe on November 23 (The Blu-ray of the same title releasing on February 14 contains the performance from the following day, November 24, at the same venue).
