Infect Winnie the Pooh in New Demo for Hilarious Body Horror Strategy Game ‘Winnie’s Hole’ [Trailer]

Just when you thought you were safe from Winnie the Pooh, along comes Twice Different and their upcoming strategy roguelite Winnie’s Hole. The developer has will be updating the game’s demo for next week’s Steam Next Fest, ahead of its eventual launch next year on Steam.

For this updated demo, the team has taken cues from the game’s community, adding new Actions and Perks to freshen up gameplay. There are also new Exit types and Events, weirdly shaped rooms, randomised pickups, and overall just more pickups.

Mutation and Perk rewards now need to be harvested from your foes. Different enemies give different rewards, which can be previewed in their profiles in combat, or Exit Hole tooltips when exploring. Finally, the demo features a rebalance to progression, shifting away from deck hoarding and towards more curated decks in general. The starter decks have been trimmed down to give them “more flavour and less bloat,” making new additions more meaningful.

A mix of strategy, deckbuilding, body horror and dark humour that reimagines Winnie in a world of dark science, Winnie’s Hole sees players take on the role of a virus that has entered Winnie’s body. Naturally, you’ll want to infect and capture cells to grow mutations and build a deck of actions to unleash in combo-driven combat. The resultant infection sees Winnie mutate in horrific ways.

You’ll explore randomly-generated worlds by placing Virus blocks to spread throughout Winnie’s body, starting with his brain. Each turn, your actions are dealt randomly to the Brain board. Place your block shapes strategically to activate powerful combinations, and adapt as you discover the limitations of your host… and how to overcome them.
