The official website of anime adaptation of Kumako Hisama’s 4-panel comedy manga Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi! announced that the female-led series will be premiering in April 2026. Alongside the premiere month, a teaser visual was released as well as the details on the lead staff members who will be bringing the manga to life. Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi! Manga Announces TV Anime Adaptation Toshinori Watanabe ( Tokyo Ghoul:re ) is directing Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi! at PRA, with character designs from Fumiya Uehara ( 9-nine- Ruler's Crown ), who is also chief animation directing alongside Minefumi Harada, Yuki Yabuta and Saori Sakiguchi, and music is from MONACA. The series will premiere in April 2026. The story of the series follows Meiko Morita, a second-year high school student who moves from the countryside to the big city of Tokyo in order to attend a new school. After arriving, Meiko ends up living and working at Hedgehog, a manga café that doubles as a girls' dormitory, where she meets a colorful cast of characters.
