The school, created by Seto Kaiba himself, is divided into three houses named after the three Egyptian God Cards: the elite Obelisk Blue class, the well-studied Ra Yellow class, and the scrappy Slifer Red class. The main protagonist, Judai Yuki, is a foolhardy and lazy student who finds himself placed in the Slifer Red class. However, he uses his Elemental Hero deck to run circles around higher-ranking students and even professors at the Academy. He also has the ability to see the “Duel Spirits” of certain monster cards, particularly that of the Winged Kuriboh gifted to him by Yugi Muto himself. All kinds of hijinks and mystical mayhem ensue as Judai tries to graduate Duel Academy and become the next king of games. Season 1 (Episodes 1-52) In the show’s early days, Judai spends his days making friends with students from all three classes.
