Developer Peanut Button has announced an October 22 release date on Steam for their comedy horror puzzle adventure title, Riddlewood Manor. Accompanying the announcement is a new trailer, showing glimpses of the various puzzles you’ll be encountering, along with the eccentric cast.
“For Riddlewood Manor, we really wanted to bring back the nostalgic feeling of Saturday morning cartoons,” said Asaf Geva, co-founder of Peanut Button. “Creepy comedy fuels our eerie atmosphere. We crafted meaningful puzzles inspired by Rusty Lake and merged them
with the fun absurdity often found in shows like “Courage the Cowardly Dog”,” said Co-Founder Eyal Geva. “It’s the kind of comedy you need to turn the lights out for.”
The sinister secrets of the Riddlewood family legacy lie strewn throughout the halls of their haunted estate. However, there’s a bit of a problem: the house attempts to kill all who enter. Doors slam shut, chains rattle in the dark, and ghosts appear and disappear into thin air.
Beware the trailing giggles coming from the possessed doll Suzie, ringing out from locked rooms. But not all sounds imply imminent death — perhaps that poor, hungry specter just wants a bountiful breakfast instead?
You’ll need to survive an unpredictable series of comedy-fueled, atmospheric escape rooms brought to unlife in hand-drawn animation, all from a fully-controllable 360° first-person perspective. Analyze all angles and deduce thoughtful solutions to puzzles telling the story of what befell the Riddlewoods. Be wary not to let your gaze wander: jump scares lurk around every corner, with optional warnings available.
Discover the Riddlewood family’s forgotten fate with the help of found friends. Encounter eccentric dragons, egg-laying chickens, and other creatures nestled around the abandoned manor that can help brave adventurers escape the house unscathed. Make the wrong choice
with the right items and you may find yourself resurrected outside by a merry band of chanting monks.
