It's a whole new year and a whole new world for anime, and it's been kicked off by the announcement of a TV anime based on Hitoshi Iwaaki's historical epic manga Historie . A teaser trailer and visual were unveiled, along with confirmation of LIDEN FILMS ( Call of the Night , Tokyo Revengers ) as the studio in charge of production. A release date was not revealed at the time of reporting. The Historie manga has been serialized in Monthly Afternoon magazine since January 2003, but entered an indefinite hiatus in August 2022. Twelve collected volumes have been published to date, which have a reported 4.7 million copies in circulation.
