But when Nube's students grow complacent and rely solely on their newfound luck, something must be done. Shueisha serialized the original Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube manga by Sho Makura and Takeshi Okano from August 1993 – May 1999 in their Weekly Shonen Jump manga magazine, and the series was also published in Japan in 31 collected volumes. Yasuyuki Oishi directs the TV anime at Studio KAI. Yoshiki Okusa provides the series composition, Yuu Yoshiyama provides the character designs and Evan Call provides the music.
