The upcoming original TV anime Goodbye, Lara revealed a new piece of key art as well as the character trailer for a newly announced cast member. In the series, voice actor Nana Kawaishi plays the role of co-protagonist Mari Otsu . The series will broadcast in Japan in 2026. Created to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Kinema Citrus, Goodbye, Lara re-imagines the story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen with the setting updated to modern day Japan. The story follows Lara, a mermaid who became human to pursue the love of a human prince, only to fail and transform into sea foam.
