While we await the final season of Golden Kamuy , an anime OVA will be released later this year bundled with the first-ever spin-off novel for the series. The OVA adapts chapter 102 of Satoru Noda's original manga, The Lightning Thief and Viper Ogin , which focuses on the backstory of fan-favorite characters Ogin and Keiichiro Sakamoto. The novel follows surprising incidents that Lieutenant Tsurumi and the members of the 7th Division encounter during the Russo-Japanese War. Both the regular edition and the special edition, which comes with the OVA, will be released in Japan on October 17. Pre-orders for the special edition close on August 18.
