The Ghost in the Shell franchise plans to hold the first large-scale comprehensive exhibition to cover all of its anime series, titled "Ghost in the Shell: The Exhibition," at TOKYO NODE, Toranomon Hills in Tokyo from January 30 to April 5, 2026. The exhibition's official site is now streaming a trailer below. This is the first large-scale exhibition in the history of the Ghost in the Shell franchise, covering all the works in the anime series, with the full cooperation of Production I.G, which has been in charge of animation production for the series since the first feature film in 1995, and Science SARU, which is in charge of the new animation to air in 2026, allowing visitors to experience the 30-year history of the anime series in a comprehensive manner. In addition to works by past directors such as Mamoru Oshii, Kenji Kamiyama, Kazuchika Kise, and Shinji Aramaki, the exhibition will also include works related to Science SARU's new anime. Visitors will be able to compare and contrast the unique themes and worldviews of each work. More than 600 rare and valuable materials, including never-before-seen materials, such as key animation drawings, setting materials, storyboards, etc., created during the entire production process of the anime series will be on display. Additionally, many original goods exclusive to the exhibition will be on sale during the exhibition period. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale in the fall of 2025. The exhibition is also scheduled to tour overseas in the future. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
