Gachiakuta Episode 6 Recap, “One Good Strike!!”

Based on the manga by Kei Urana and graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou, Gachiakuta is the story of Rudo, a boy from the slums of an idyllic floating city known as the Sphere. Framed for a crime he didn’t commit and tossed into the rancid garbage pit far below the Sphere, Rudo will do whatever it takes to survive in the hellish depths so he can take revenge on the people who sent him there. GACHIAKUTA RECAP Gachiakuta Episode 6 Recap Summary The Gachiakuta After Show Podcast Episode 6 Previous Gachiakuta recaps Found You Gris, Follo, Rudo and the other Cleaners' support staff make it to the building’s exit. As the support staff goes out the door, Gris tells Follo and Rudo that he’s going to go back for Zanka. Suddenly, the three Cleaners hear footsteps approaching, and Gris is relieved that the Giver’s already finished up with the menacing Raiders. But it’s not Zanka – it’s the crazed Raider looking for Rudo, and now he’s found him. Gris asks where Zanka is, and the Raider ignores him, instead telling Rudo that someone wants to meet him. The boy repeats the question about Zanka, and the Raider reassures the Cleaners that he’s alive. He’s in a lot of pain, but alive. The Raider summons his vital instrument, long claws on each hand, and tells Rudo to come quietly. Memory Follo and Gris take swings at the Raider, who dodges them easily. Gris steps in front of Rudo to protect him. The boy starts to tell him that’s unnecessary, but the Raider informs him that it’s too late: Gris is already dead. He pushes his claws deeper into the Cleaner’s side, and the talisman that Gris keeps on him is cut free. The world turns black and white as the shocked Rudo tries to process what’s happening. The talisman falls to the floor, seemingly in slow motion, and Rudo sees a vision of his adoptive father, Regto, impaled by a murderer’s blade. He catches the talisman and is overtaken by a memory. Regto decided that Rudo needed a focus for his emotions and they needed to find something he liked. While they spent some pleasant time outside, it wasn’t until Rudo saw a wealthy man throwing garbage away that he snapped out of his stupor. He pulled the bag out of the trash bin and began to sob, saying that the objects were only a little bit broken. Regto realized that the boy could see their true worth. Full Worth Back in the present, Rudo activates the Anima in Gris’s talisman. Gris, bleeding on the floor and clinging to life, suddenly understands Rudo’s power – it brings out an object’s complete and full worth. The talisman transforms into a massive floating totem. Rudo realizes that Gris made him remember what he’s always wanted to do, which focuses his ability. His Raider opponent is excited by Rudo’s display of power. He introduces himself as Jabber, and he wants to have some “fun” before he takes Rudo to have his chat. Jabber slices at Rudo, claws flashing through the air, but the boy seemingly dodges them all. The summoned talisman is making the Raider’s attacks ineffective. The talisman doesn’t attack, as it’s the embodiment of Gris’s prayers, but its defense is practically impenetrable. Rudo lands a punch in the middle of Jabber’s face. Intent The unhinged Raider keeps fighting, slicing through a concrete pillar and kicking the pieces at Rudo. They make it through the talisman’s defenses, so Rudo has to dodge them himself – and Jabber notices. The Raider starts attacking again, jumping faster than the eye can see, and Rudo continues landing blow after blow until Jabber falls against a wall. But the fight’s not over yet. His body will keep fighting, he tells Rudo, and the talisman won’t be able to feel the attacks coming as there won’t be any conscious thought behind them.
