The bullet catches the Raider in the calf and he falls to the ground, cursing. Elsewhere, Enjin hears the shot, then turns his attention back to his opponent. The boy quivers in fear while he worries that he’s going to come in last among the other Raiders. He doesn’t even know how to start a fight, he says to himself. He stammers out an introduction — his name is Fu — and he asks Enjin to please hit him first. The Cleaner smiles cheerfully and declines. Noerde’s electrified hair crackles as she stalks toward the young Cleaner. The Raider strikes and Riyo dodges by twisting in the air. The resulting wind throws off Noerde’s hair without Riyo touching it. Warrior Riyo has an idea. She darts away into the large, trash-filled cavern and hides inside the remains of the ruined department store. It makes Noerde furious; she prefers to fight head-on. Her electrified hair returns to normal and Riyo grins. Her theory was right, the effect only lasts for a short time. She strikes at Noerde’s long hair with her scissors vital instrument, but the Raider can control its movement as if it has nerves. Riyo admits she’s pretty legit. Noerde confirms the time limit is her weak point, but as a true warrior, she knows how to compensate for it. RELATED: Gachiakuta Quiz: What Kind of Vital Instrument Would You Have? She begins throwing kicks and punches at Riyo, pausing to reveal that she comes from a village with an all-women tribe called Sileia. Riyo stashes her vital instrument and takes on the Raider unarmed. Their explosive punches and kicks destroy any objects that get in their way. (That teddy bear didn’t do anything to you, Noerde.) The Professional When they finally stop to catch their breaths, Riyo coughs up blood. She asks mildly if anyone could hear them call for help. When Noerde confidently says no, Riyo decides the fight has gone on long enough. She pulls a handgun from her coat and fires twice. The Raider falls to the ground. Enjin said she couldn’t kill people anymore, Riyo says, so she was trying not to kill her while they fought, but she needs to get moving to protect her teammates. Noerde guesses that Riyo was a hitman and the Cleaner asks her to keep that a secret. She gets more info from Noerde and sets out to help everyone, but it won’t be easy to find them. Her thoughts turn to Rudo; she’s still not sure how he’s going to end up. Back in the present, Jabber yells at Riyo for shooting him in the leg and she fires again. She’s sure he’s too stubborn to die. She checks on Zanka, who’s still alive but stuck in his delirium. Watchman Cthoni teleports to the Raiders’ leader, Zodyl, and fills him in on what’s happening with the other Cleaners. Zodyl admits that they’re tougher than he expected. He tells Cthoni that it’s time to get moving and she teleports them to the chamber with the glowing object . Rudo’s hit his limit, however, and wants some answers to what they really want. Zodyl advises him to think seriously about his offer to take down the Sphere, but Rudo already knows he hates his type of person. Zodyl calmly approaches the glowing object and presses Amo’s boots against it. Tendrils creep out and hold them in place. As the boots start to glow themselves, Zodyl remarks that these vital instruments are part of the Watchman series, just like his coat and Rudo’s gloves — and he’s trying to make more.
