Bro Santa admonishes Dear Santa for scowling at the Raider in front of them: he’ll get wrinkles if he keeps making that face. The Raider chats amiably with Bro, asking about Dear and their relationship. They chuckle together, but Bro is wary. He asks the Raider directly if they’re going to fight. The man introduces himself as Bundus and admits he’s not feeling particularly hostile. Despite working for Zodyl, he has his own goals. More fingers crawl around Bundus as he tells the Cleaners he wants information, then promises to give them some in return. He’s interested in their boss, Arkha Corvus. Q&A As for the man of the hour, Corvus hears a knock on his office door. It’s Semiu, telling him that Gris has reported members of the Akuta and Child teams missing. Corvus tells her with a smile that he has a good information broker who can help them find them. Back underground, Bundus says his curiosity is his own and Bro’s answers won’t get back to the Raiders. He narrows his question down. What… is Corvus’ favorite food? Bro is thrown off and stammers out that he likes sweets. Bundus fires off more mundane questions about the Cleaners’ boss, including his age and what he does for fun. Bro honestly doesn’t have any answers. Bundus is satisfied, however, and tells Bro in return that the Raiders have cultivated their own trash beasts. Corvus suddenly feels human to him now. Meanwhile, Jabber and Zanka continue their one-on-one battle. Jabber insists that the Cleaner must be holding back, and he has high hopes that they can fight each other all-out together. Not the Same Zodyl poses a question. If he’s from the Ground and Rudo is from the Sphere, why do they have the same look in their eyes? Jabber told him they even smell the same, which is why he’s interested in him. Rudo’s not won over, however, saying he could have just talked to him without kidnapping his teammates. Zodyl continues by telling him about groundlings who worship the trash as it falls and consider it a blessing to be killed by it. He says to them it’s just accepted as truth, and sometimes it takes a shock to snap people out of their illusions. He eats a cockroach to illustrate. Zodyl wonders if the same thing might happen to Jabber’s current opponent — or maybe the shock will be too intense. All Out As Jabber launches himself at Zanka, the Cleaner sighs in annoyance. He’d been fighting all-out all along. He’s not a genius or a natural talent, but he’s going to keep fighting. The two trade strikes, parries and counterattacks. Jabber lands a solid kick to Zanka’s stomach before the Cleaner manages to stop his next slash with his teeth. RELATED: Gachiakuta and the Tropes of Anime Vengeance The Raider is delighted, until Zanka hits him in the side hard enough to break his ribs. He keeps attacking but gets too close and the Raider slices his leg with a poison-laden claw. Zanka lies writhing in pain on the ground, his vital instrument a few feet by him. There were three toxins on his claws, Jabber says with a grin. Then he stabs Zanka again and the light fades from his eyes… Is this the end for Zanka?
