The official website and accounts for the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime series released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming second season today. The new teaser reveals that Tomoya Kitagawa will direct the new season, with Daiki Harashina acting as assistant director, and season one director Keiichiro Saito as supervising director with MADHOUSE still on animation production. Takasemaru, Keisuke Kojima and Yuri Fujinaka will handle the character designs. Seiko Yoshioka will still handle the concept art, with Evan Call also still working on music. The new season is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 , and Crunchyroll will stream the new episodes when it premieres in the winter anime season. Based on the award-winning manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, Keiichiro Saito ( BOCCHI THE ROCK! ) directed the first season of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End at studio MADHOUSE, with Tomohiro Suzuki ( One-Punch Man ) on series composition, Reiko Nagasawa ( takt op.Destiny ) on character designs and Evan Call ( Violet Evergarden ) on music. Crunchyroll currently streams the first season, and describes the series as such: After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes.
