The ongoing TV anime based on the fantasy manga Frieren: Beyond Journey's End shared three new pieces of character art today. The artwork focuses on the main character, Frieren, as she naps, blows a kiss, and gets rescued from a Mimic by her apprentice, Fern. The series kicks off its new season on Japanese TV on January 16, 2026, which Crunchyroll will also simulcast . Since April 2020, Shogakukan has serialized the original Frieren: Beyond Journey's End manga in their Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, and 15 collected volumes have also been published in Japan to date. Kanehito Yamada writes and Tsukasa Abe illustrates Frieren: Beyond Journey's End . Viz Media publishes an English language version of the series. Tomoya Kitagawa directs the second season of the TV anime at animation studio MADHOUSE, with series composition by Tomohiro Suzuki, character designs by Maru Takase, Keisuke Kojima and Yuri Fujinaka and music by Evan Call.
