‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Featurette Promises More Animatronics, Action, Suspense, Lore

“You guys are gonna lose your mind when you see this movie,” Matthew Lillard promises of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 in the new featurette below.

Featuring more animatronics, more action, more suspense, and more lore, the sequel hits theaters on December 5 from Universal and Blumhouse.

Emma Tammi returns to direct from a script by Five Nights at Freddy’s video game creator Scott Cawthon, who co-wrote the first film.

One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest.

Former security guard Mike and police officer Vanessa have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby, concerning the fate of her animatronic friends.

But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.

Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Theodus Crane, and Lillard reprise their roles, joined by Freddy Carter (“Shadow and Bone”), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Skeet Ulrich (Scream), and Megan Fox (Jennifer’s Body).

Jim Henson’s Creature Shop once again designed the animatronics for the film.

Cawthon produces alongside Jason Blum. Executive producers include Tammi, Beatriz Sequeira, Christopher Warner, Russell Binder, and Marc Mostman.

The highest grossing horror film of 2023, Five Nights at Freddy’s opened to a record-breaking $80 million and went on to earn nearly $300 million worldwide.
