Fresh off its Fantastic Fest premiere, Dinner to Die For has been acquired by Chroma in the US, Canada, UK and other English-language territories.
The delicious story revolves around Hannah, a culinary photographer, and her friend Evan, who share a passion for true crime content. When Evan suggests role playing their own true crime scenario involving a killer meal and the girl next door, things take a twisted turn.
Shamilla Miller, Steven John Ward (“One Piece”), and Nina Erasmus star in the South African horror thriller.
Diana Mills Smith makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with Cameron Scott and Orr Koren.
“Dinner to Die For is a wickedly fun film,” says Chroma VP Ahbra Perry. “It’s dark, sexy, queer, and bloody delicious. To top it off, Diana serves up a kill so satisfying it lingers long after the credits. Chroma is thrilled to champion such bold new voices in genre film.”
“I set out to make a film that is as sexy and playful as it is bloody and twisted. Dinner to Die For is about desire validation, and the dangerous games we play to feel seen,” adds Mills Smith. “To have Chroma embrace my feature debut is incredibly exciting, as their commitment to innovative and boundary pushing genre filmmaking makes them the perfect partner to bring this story to audiences.”
Founded by industry veterans and powered by Narrative Distribution, Chroma launched earlier this year to champion bold, independent voices in science fiction and horror.
