Experience the Unique Survival Horror Game ‘SHOCK’ with Its Steam Next Fest Demo [Trailer]

Receiving a gameplay trailer during The Horror Game Awards Halloween Showcase a few weeks back, Hero’s Punch Productions’ upcoming psychological horror title SHOCK is a unique one, to say the least. Slated for release next year, players will be able to get a taste of SHOCK later this week when the game receives its demo during this week’s Steam Next Fest.

The premise sees players trapped in the dark, claustrophobic confines of an abandoned indoor parking lot, with no memory of how you got there. You are Jack River, a disabled war veteran with amputated legs whose bandaged head calls back to Max from Sanitarium. Your only means of mobility is a wheelchair. But as Jack quickly discovers, he’s not alone in the parking lot: A terrifying, man-made cybernetic creature roams the lot and has a keen interest in Jack.

In order to escape, you’ll need to use your wits and the environment to hide, sneak, and outsmart the creature. That includes creating diversions using items such as bricks, and using stealth mechanics to evade the creature’s relentless pursuit. Complicating matters is the fact that Jack is without legs. As such, he’ll need to leave his wheelchair behind at times, crawling into tight spaces and hidden areas to escape detection and solve puzzles. Your vulnerability is your greatest challenge, but also your advantage.
