Japanese rock band GLAY will hold three dome concerts in Tokyo and Osaka to celebrate 30th anniversary, titled "GLAY 30th Anniversary GLAY EXPO 2024-2025 GRAND FINALE," from May 31 to June 8. Their official website has revealed a memorial illustration to celebrate the grand finale newly drawn by animator/manga artist Yoshiyuki Sadamoto . Sadamoto is best known for his character design works for the Evangelion anime series and Mamoru Hosoda's anime films such as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) and Summer Wars (2009). The relationship between the two began when GLAY provided the opening theme song "Kaishin no Ichigeki" for the 2024 TV anime Grendizer U , for which Sadamoto designed the characters, and this illustration is a special collaboration between the world of Grendizer U and GLAY. At the venues of the dome concerts, if you purchase either one of the two titles "DRIVE 1993-2009 – GLAY complete BEST" or "DRIVE 2010-2026 – GLAY complete BEST," which were released simultaneously in April, you can participate a lottery to win a T-shirt using this illustration.
