If Eight Legged Freaks creeped you out, then Ten Image Publishing and OnTheHouse Studio has a treat for you arachnophobes with Huntsman, which has its demo available now during Steam Next Fest. Launching next month on Steam, the demo for this first-person Survival Horror spider-fest features the game’s opening levels, where you navigate your first day on the job as Atherton Lab’s newest security guard and experience the world’s unluckiest onboarding.
As the premise of the demo implies, in Huntsman, you are the new security guard at Atherton Laboratories, which has unfortunately been overrun by the eight-legged predators that now infest the hallways. Outnumbered and defenseless, you must find a way to eliminate the threats and lift the facility lockdown to escape.
To do so, you must divert the facility’s limited power between sections of the building to access new areas, gather vital resources, and outmaneuver the swarm. Sadly, you aren’t equipped with a flamethrower. Instead, you must use your flashlight, throwables, and the environment itself to distract, mislead, and evade the spiders.
Navigate the facility, avoid the spiders, and begin to unravel the story of just how Atherton Labs became overrun as you battle to escape. More spider types and locations will be revealed in the lead up to November’s full launch.
