Vice Press has teamed with Bottleneck Gallery and artist Matt Ferguson to fully remaster Drew Struzan‘s iconic artwork for John Carpenter‘s The Thing.
Multi-later acrylic versions, featuring thee layers of art built up to create a 3D effect, will be available in three sizes. 24×36 is limited to 150 for $175, 16×24 is limited to 100 for $126, and 7×10.5 is limited to 100 for $75.
Bottleneck writes, “Drew Struzan’s original theatrical poster for John Carpenter’s creepy cult classic, The Thing, is one of the most ubiquitous images in movie posters, and for good reason! Drew’s image hints at the isolation; at the cold conditions; and the mystifying monsters awaiting film viewers, and we’re super proud to team up with Vice Press to faithfully recreate the original image as a Multi-Layer Acrylic edition.”
One-sheet size 27×40 fine art pigment prints, hand-numbered out of 250, will also be up for grabs for $65.
Vice Press writes, “These epic posters are printed on 200gsm Satin paper, a little thicker than traditional cinema one sheets, but sturdier and much more durable for collectors and to the same Vice Press high standards, while keeping that classic cinema poster feel.”
All editions go on sale tomorrow, July 31, at 1pm ET from Vice Press.
