DreadXP Reveals First Gameplay Teaser for ‘Paranormal Activity’ Video Game [Watch]

Revealed last year, DreadXP and Paramount have released the first gameplay teaser at this year’s Indie Horror Showcase for the upcoming Paranormal Activity adaptation. Currently referred to as Paranormal Activity: Threshold, the game is being published by DreadXP in partnership with Paramount Pictures, with development being handled by Brian Clarke of DarkStone Digital (the devs behind The Mortuary Assistant).

Brian Clarke’s The Mortuary Assistant (which is getting its own film adaptation in 2026, courtesy of Shudder) was a breakout horror title upon its release back in 2022. Clarke is bringing his signature approach to fear and immersion with the Paranormal Activity game, aiming to expand on the franchise’s infamous found footage style horror “in new and nightmarish ways.”

Per the Steam page, the game follows Daniel and Jessica Stewart, who have decided to remodel their first home. Old and dilapidated, they begin to record the adventures of their renovation, but the couple soon discovers their new home hides much more than asbestos and faulty wiring.

As they dig deeper into the mysterious house, their excitement turns to concern when they uncover strange markings and items hidden within the walls. The more time they spend there, the clearer it becomes that they are not the home’s only occupant. Sinking deeper into the influences of a dark presence, Daniel and Jessica are unprepared for the horrifying events that follow

More details about the game, including the official release title, platforms, and launch timing, will be revealed in the coming months. You can currently wishlist the game on Steam.
