Awesome Games Studio has announced HELLREAPER, their upcoming dark fantasy sidescrolling action title. Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, HELLREAPER sees players become the eponymous unstoppable force that Heaven can’t control, and that which terrifies Hell itself.
The story goes that with the hordes of Hell growing stronger and the Eternal Balance is at risk, Heaven is forced to unleash their last line of defence in the Hellreaper. By sacrificing one of the High Angels, they create a devastating, uncontrollable force that might restore order. With the aid of a mysterious entity known as The Three Sisters, players will uncover the secrets of Hell’s corruption as they wreak bloody havoc on the denizens of Hell.
Described as a “tough but fair” title, details on HELLREAPER are still to come, but the developers state that with their previous titles in Fury Unleashed and Yet Another Zombie Survivors, they worked closely with their community to deliver the most enjoyable experiences possible. They aim to do much the same with HELLREAPER.
There will also be cats. Probably… with cats, you can never be sure.
