Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Takes 6th Place in Japan All-Time Box Office Chart in 25 Days

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle  continues to climb the Japanese box office all-time chart, making 4.44 billion yen over the last week to become the country's sixth highest-grossing film of all time . The new  Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba  anime film also premiered in Taiwan over the past weekend — the first place outside of Japan — topping charts and breaking records there as well. As of August 11, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has brought in 22.07 billion yen (US$149.17 million) in 25 days on the back of 15.69 million ticket sales, according to the series' official accounts. Infinity Castle took the sixth-place spot previously held by ONE PIECE FILM: RED and is just a little over 3 billion yen away from the fifth-place film, Your Name . Infinity Castle is also now the fourth highest-grossing anime film released in Japan. Over in Taiwan — the first territory outside of Japan to premiere Infinity Castle, according to The Liberty Times — the film premiered on August 8 to NT$46.9 million (US$1.56 million), making it the seventh largest opening day of all-time across all films in the country. Distributor Muse announced on Instagram that Infinity Castle has since brought in over NT$170 million (US$5.67 million), beating Mugen Train ’s NT$117 million first weekend in Taiwan to have the highest-grossing opening weekend for an animated film there, as well.
