Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle posted the movie's updated Japanese box office numbers after 45 days of release, and confirmed the movie has now reached over 20 million tickets sold in Japan. As of August 24, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has brought in 29.98 billion yen (US$202.80 million) based on 21.10 million tickets sold, according to the series' official X (formerly Twitter) . Infinity Castle passed 20 million tickets sold over the past weekend, which the 2020 Mugen Train movie reported as passing after 59 days of release, according to Oricon . The movie still currently stands as the third-highest-grossing movie in Japan, with Spirited Away in second at 31.6 billion yen and Mugen Train in first at 40.7 billion yen in historic box office gross, according to Kogyo Tsushin . According to distributor Muse , Infinity Castle has grossed NT$639 million (US$21.04 million) in Taiwan, with 2.07 million tickets sold. The movie has now become the number one animated film and the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time in the country, taking the crown from Mugen Train in only 23 days. In South Korea, Infinity Castle made US$25.1 million on 3.2 million tickets sold, according to Korean film tracker KOBIS . Infinity Castle is now also the third highest-grossing film of the year in the country in ten days, taking over the spot from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning . It is the fifth biggest film of the year based on admissions and the fourth biggest Japanese animated film of all-time in South Korea , passing Howl’s Moving Castle with 3.01 million tickets sold and Mugen Train , which had 2.22 million viewers in 2020.
