Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Anime Releases Tokushima Awa Odori Festival Collab Visual from Ufotable

To commemorate the upcoming release of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle movie, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series will participate in the traditional summer festival "Awa Odori" held in Tokushima Prefecture from August 11 to August 15. The anime's official website and X (formerly Twitter) posted a newly-drawn collaboration visual featuring the anime's main characters in the festival's yukata costumes. Additionally, on August 12 and 14, the "Kimetsu-ren" team will form to participate in the festival, parading with the mini-Taishi characters, including Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agazuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kocho, Kyojuro Rengoku, Tengen Uzui and Mitsuri Kanroji. On August 14, voice actors Hiro Shimono (the voice of Zenitsu Agazuma) and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke Hashibira) will also join the parade. Participation is open to first through sixth grade elementary school students in Tokushima City. Applications are currently being accepted on the festival's official website . The Awa Odori is a traditional festival said to have an over 400 year history, and is one of the most popular events in Japan with over one million tourists from Japan and abroad to Tokushima City every year, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization . Ufotable, the production company of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series, opened a studio in Tokushima City in April 2009. The company has worked to help revitalize Tokushima Prefecture, including planning and producing the " Machi Asobi " event in Tokushima City, and has also produced other posters for the Awa Odori festival in the past . Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will release the first movie worldwide starting in August, with screenings in the United States and Canada beginning on September 12 .
