The TV anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s (creator of Fullmetal Alchemist ) manga Daemons of the Shadow Realm was announced today during Crunchyroll’s industry panel at Anime Expo, alongside the release of a teaser visual and trailer. Crunchyroll will also stream the anime when it premieres in the future in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS and the Indian Subcontinent. The trailer reveals that Masahiro Ando ( Sword of the Stranger ) will direct the anime at bones film, with bones acting as production supervisor. Noboru Takagi ( Golden Kamuy ) will write the series composition, with Nobuhiro Arai ( Bungo Stray Dogs ) on character designs. A release date was not announced at the time of reporting. Arakawa began serialization of Daemons of the Shadow Realm in December 2021 in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine, with nine volumes released in Japan to date. Square Enix releases an English-language version of the manga, and describes the series : In a world where certain humans command mighty supernatural duos called Daemons, it is the birthright of "the children who sunder day and night"—twins Yuru and Asa—to rule over these powerful entities. Separated from a young age and unaware of the truth of their birth, brother and sister must fight to make their way back to each other, claim their birthright, and save the world…
