Strange Scaffold is bringing its meta horror game Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 to the Xbox Series and iOS. Originally released on Steam back in March, the genre-bending title will launch on the Xbox Series on September 17, and iOS on October 28.
An “unholy cocktail” of genres: match-3, survival horror, choice-driven narrative, RPG, and a helping of just plain weird, Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 transports you to a mansion overrun with dinosaurs, and, even more surprisingly, code-breaking bugs. This isn’t your typical creepy mansion; this is one stuck in a video game, and fully aware of it.
As a sequel to a game series that doesn’t exist, complete with lore and a fictional development team, CRDM3 “commits to the bit” so hard it hurts. With razor-sharp game development satire, Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 is a bizarre, side-splitting adventure about the way creations can take on a life of their own — and the bright futures the games industry fails to even try to explore.
Discover the story of how, 20 years ago, the fictional, genre-fusion video game Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion was released and became a smash hit. Years later, the franchise returns to the spotlight when CRDM3 is shown off and announced on gaming’s biggest stage. Meanwhile, a very confused protagonist, J.J. Hardwell, fights off glitching raptors and T-Rexes in what he soon realizes is a broken video game that he must save.
Meanwhile, Strange Scaffold are keeping up with the bit, having announced a “remake” of the first metafictional game, Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 1: Re-Raptored, which will launch on Steam on September 23.
