Crayon Shin-chan 31st Anime Feature Film Wins Best International Animated Feature Film Award at ANN Awards 2025

Japanese TV broadcaster TV Asahi announced today that Eiga: Crayon Shin-chan: Oratachi no Kyoryu Nikki ("Shin chan: Our Dinosaur Diary"), the 31st feature film in the Crayon Shin-chan anime franchise, won the Best International Animated Feature Film award at ANN Awards 2025, one of India's largest animation awards. The sixth edition of ANN Awards was held during "Anime India/Animation & More Summit" (August 22-24), and from 2025, entries from all over Asia were accepted. The Best International Animated Feature Film award recognizes a full-length animated film (40 minutes or more) that exemplifies excellence in animation, direction, design, and narrative. Oratachi no Kyoryu Nikki released in India in May of this year. Furthermore, the character "Shin-chan" also received the “Best Animated Licensed Character” award. It has been 19 years since the Crayon Shin-chan TV anime series began airing in India, where it is broadcast seven days a week. Its overwhelming popularity and recognition through multifaceted developments such as television, movies, and licensing tie-ins, as well as its high potential for future IP development, were highly evaluated. The film earned 2.69 billion yen (18.3 million USD) from its total domestic run and has become the highest-grossing film in the Crayon Shin-chan anime franchise. The next 32nd film Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Cho Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers ("Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Hot! The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers") opened in 372 Japanese theaters on August 8, 2025, making a fourth-place debut . Starting September 26, Cho Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers will also release in theaters in India, where the main story of the film was set. It is scheduled to be released throughout India, mainly in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubbed versions.
