It's been nearly 40 years since the premiere of Sunrise's classic anime series Armor Legend Samurai Troopers . First released in the U.S. under the title Ronin Warriors , the series also inspired three OVA and two manga. And next year, we'll be getting an official sequel to the beloved series. The new series will be titled Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers (setting it apart, it seems, from the 1992 manga Shin Yoroiden Samurai Troopers ). Hideo Okamoto, armor designer for the original Samurai Troopers series, returns to continue his work on the new show's "Yoroigear." The new series is scheduled for a January 2026 premiere. Crunchyroll currently streams the original Samurai Troopers anime, describing it thus: Long ago, there existed an evil spirit that waged a war to conquer the human world.
