Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc Gets World Premiere in Tokyo on September 15

Just around the corner is the Japanese release of the upcoming Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc anime film on September 19. The official website announced today that the continuing adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga will have its world premiere on September 15 at a currently unknown TOHO Cinema in Tokyo. In addition, on September 16, Denji and Reze will grace the cover of SCREEN α film magazine, complete with a new illustration drawn by the team at MAPPA. The premiere is limited to 140 people who sign up through the application form, and there will be a lottery draw for those who can attend. A stage event will be held with Kikunosuke Toya (Denji), Tomori Kusunoki (Makima), Sakata Shogo (Aki) and Reina Ueda (Reze) in attendance. The SCREEN α feature will be 36 pages and include interviews with Kikunosuke Toya and Reina Ueda, director Tatsuya Yoshihara, assistant director Makoto Nakazono, and other key staff members. The magazine will also release original animation materials and more, alongside a double-sided poster of the new illustrations, which can be seen below. Hiroshi Seko returns to write the script along with Kazutaka Sugiyama as Character Designer, all at MAPPA. Souta Yamazaki and Shun work as the Sub Character Designer, with Sota Shigetsugu as Action Animation Director and Shoichi as the Main Animator. Riki Matsuura will design the devils alongside  Look Back  director Kiyotaka Oshiyama. Chainsaw Man—The Movie: Reze Arc  will premiere in Japan in September and then be released internationally starting September 24. Sony Pictures will release the film in the United States on October 29. The  Chainsaw Man  TV anime premiered in Japan in October 2022. Crunchyroll currently streams the series and describes the story: Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed.
