Chainsaw Man Anime Opening Song Music Video Reaches 200 Million Views

The official X (formerly Twitter) for Japanese singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu announced on July 23 that a cumulative total view number of the music video for his 13th single song "KICK BACK," which was featured as the opening theme for the TV anime Chainsaw Man , had reached 200 million on YouTube. This brings the total number of his music videos that have surpassed 200 million views on YouTube to 11, setting a new record for Japanese artists. Yonezu worked on the lyrics and music, and co-produced the arrangement with Daiki Tsuneda (King Gnu/MILLENNIUM PARADE). The song received a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), marking the first-ever achievement for a song with Japanese lyrics. It ranked No.1 on Billboard JAPAN's anime charts for 21 consecutive weeks and became a massive hit with over 500 million cumulative streams. The music video, directed by photographer and video director Yoshiyuki Okuyama, features Kenshi Yonezu and Daiki Tsuneda as well.
