The new anime adaptation of Tsukasa Hojo's classic manga Cat's Eye premieres next month, bringing with it memorable characters from decades past. Two new voice actors have joined the cast, one of whom will be voicing a character who never appeared in the original anime adaptation! Katsuyuki Konishi (Kamina in Gurren Lagann ) will appear as Masato Kamiya, a womanizing freelance writer — but there's much more to him than meets the eye. Despite being a relatively important character in the manga, this will be Masato's first animated appearance. The role was played in the original series by Yoshiko Sakakibara. Coamix releases an English language version of the manga. Yoshifumi Sueda directs the TV anime at animation studio LIDEN FILMS. Hayashi Mori provides the series composition, Yosuke Yabumoto provides the character designs and serves as chief animation director and Yuki Hayashi provides the music. Coamix describes the story of Cat's Eye : A mysterious art thief named Cat's Eye exclusively goes after the works of European painter Michael Heinz. Detective Toshio Utsumi fails to arrest Cat's Eye at every turn, getting scolded by his boss, and even facing demotion. Toshio's girlfriend Hitomi Kisugi, who runs a café near the precinct which shares the name of this thief, is always there to listen to his gripes and give him a pick-me-up.
