Last month, it was announced that Cardcaptor Sakura the Movie 2: The Sealed Card and its accompanying short Leave It to Kero-chan! will be back in cinemas in Japan for a 25th anniversary screening. With the screenings just under a month a way, we have more news on what fans can expect when they return to theaters to re-experience the magical girl film—including the news that this is actually a multiple-week run rather than a one-night-only event! During the first week, theatergoers will receive one of two B5 illustration cards featuring CLAMP artwork. From July 18th onward, the theater bonus will be one of two colored art papers featuring brand new art by chief animation director Hisashi Abe. Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: The Sealed Card will run in 56 theaters across Japan starting July 11. Crunchyroll currently streams both Cardcaptor Sakura and Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card , describing the former thus: Ten-year-old Sakura lives a pretty normal life with her older brother, Toya, and widowed father, Fujitaka. Or she did, until the day she returned home from school to discover a glowing book in her father’s study. After opening the book and releasing the cards within, Sakura is tasked with collecting each of these magical cards, while trying to live the life of a normal fourth grader.
