Keanu Reeves is at the head of not just the John Wick franchise but also the explosively violent BRZRKR franchise, which began as a comic book co-created by Reeves back in 2021. Last we heard, the property is getting a live action movie adaptation from Netflix, with Keanu Reeves on board to play the character who looks a hell of a lot like, well, Keanu Reeves.
The saga follows an immortal, half-human, half-God warrior with superhuman strength who works for the U.S. government on jobs far too violent and dangerous for anyone else, with the comic book series also spawning a spinoff novel, along with a few one-shot spinoff comics. Up next from the world of BRZRKR? The one-shot Bleeding Tide, centered on vampire pirates!
Entertainment Weekly has exclusively revealed BRZRKR: Bleeding Tide this morning, which was written by Marjorie Liu (Monstress) with art from Garry Brown (The Massive).
Here’s the synopsis: “The story features a pirate captain following the sound of a strange heartbeat into the ocean, where she finds a box chained in irons that contains the deformed mass of the half-god eternal warrior known as B. Once awakened, B must jump into battle to defend the crew from an ambush at sea despite rising concerns. What is the captain after with such a dangerous bounty on her head, and more importantly, what is she hiding?”
As EW reveals, the main threat at the center of BRZRKR: Bleeding Tide is vampire pirates, with B no doubt being tasked with ripping and tearing his way through the bloodsucking threat.
Expect Bleeding Tide to expand upon the world of BRZRKR on shelves November 26.
