The official website for the upcoming original anime feature film Beast of Kamisari Month ( Kamisarizuki no Kemono in Japanese) released a pilot film and concept visuals today. Beast of Kamisari Month will be produced as a companion piece to the 2021 anime film Child of Kamiari Month ( Kamiarizuki no Kodomo ), which was based on the Kojiki, a historical book containing Japanese mythology. Beast of Kamisari Month Pilot Film Child of Kamiari Month opened in Japan on October 8, 2021, and then streamed on Netflix internationally on February 8, 2022. The production of Beast of Kamisari Month was announced during the "Co-creating Cultures for the Future" program at the World Expo 2025, which closed on October 13. Whereas Child of Kamiari Month was based on the "myth of nation-building" in Benten Island, Izumo from the Kojiki, Beast of Kamisari Month depicts the "myth of nation-creating" in Onokoro Island, Awaji, as portrayed at the beginning of the Kojiki.
