Baka & Test – Summon the Beasts is celebrating not one, but two anniversaries! This year marks the 10th anniversary of the original light novel's conclusion, while 2026 will mark the 15th anniversary of the anime adaptation's debut. To commemorate this one-two punch of major events, the series is launching a special anniversary project. To kick things off, there's both an anniversary website and an X (formerly Twitter) account to go with it. Through these sources, we know that the project's first initiative will be a crossover with tabletop RPG SATASUPE: Asian Punk RPG . SATASUPE: Asian Punk RPG Book Cover RELATED: Saint Tail Manga Inspires Sweet Collab Café in Osaka First published in 1996, SATASUPE (short for "Saturday Night Special") is one of the first games from Japanese TTRPG creator Toichiro Kawashima. The game is an over-the-top shoot-em-up game using d6 dice pools, set in an alternate Japan where Osaka is now the capital. While there is currently no official English translation for the game, it is still well-loved in Japan, with the publisher releasing support for the game as recently as 2023. On May 23, a crowdfunding campaign will launch for the collaboration. While originally reported by some outlets to be a special scenario for the game, a social media post clarifies that it will be a "replay." Popular in gaming magazines in Japan for decades, replays are the forebears of our modern "actual plays": written retellings in script format of tabletop game sessions. The project will reunite author Kenji Inoue and illustrator Yui Haga, and will follow the series's characters through a SATASUPE campaign. Based on crowdfunding benchmarks, we may also see certain guest stars summoned into the story. Crunchyroll currently streams both seasons of Baka & Test – Summon the Beasts , as well as both OVA episodes, describing the series thus: Fumizuki Academy’s students can summon Avatars, pint-sized versions of themselves that battle using special powers. The students are grouped by skill level, and those in Class A are the brightest. Then there’s Akihisa Yoshii’s group—lowly Class F. They’re the worst on campus, and they’re about to take on the school’s best. Source: Comic Natalie
