Japan announced today that Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s popular and award-winning light novel All You Need Is Kill will get an anime film from director Kenichiro Akimoto at STUDIO 4°C. In 2014, the novel was adapted into manga from Moriarty the Patriot ’s Ryosuke Takeuchi and Death Note ’s Takeshi Obata. In the same year, a Hollywood live-action adaption was released under the name Edge of Tomorrow , and it starred Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. Viz Media describes the original novel as such: When the alien Mimics invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor called a Jacket and sent out to kill.
