Just over five months since its Early Access release, Firesquid and Traptics’ Xenopurge will be leaving the service and launching in full on Steam on November 20. As further incentive, the game will launch with a 22% discount.
Per the press release, the 1.0 launch of Xenopurge will include the following:
- The Bioweave Cell squad, a new squad collecting enemies’ DNA to use bio-modifications and evolve over time while acquiring unique capacities. It’s all about risk and reward!
- Full Story campaign.
- Additional difficulty levels.
- 4 variants per squad, offering 16 initial loadouts to choose from.
- Additional commands and weapons to deepen tactical possibilities.
“When we started Xenopurge, we didn’t know exactly what it would become,” says Mike Papagathangelou of Trapics. “We just chased the creation of a specific feeling. That sense of tension for the squad you command, watching their every move from the screen, dreading what they might find around each corner.
Along the way, an amazing community gathered around the project, helping it grow into something beyond what we ever imagined. As we approach full release, this isn’t the end of development; it’s the next step in fulfilling our promise to you, the players. And believe me, we’re just getting started. There’s so much more we can’t wait to bring to Xenopurge.”
Xenopurge is a tactical auto-battler where you command an elite squad remotely, deep in the warzones of Xenowarfare. As part of M.A.C.E. (Mercer’s Advanced Combat Enterprises), your mission is clear: purge all these aliens to keep humanity safe.
Unlike XCOM, Xenopurge has you commanding your troops from the safety of a retro-futuristic command console (think Gorman during the initial infiltration of LV-426 in Aliens). They’re capable fighters, but blind to the greater threats around them. Lead them, and they might get to see another day.
Build your squad, equip them, and customize their rules of engagement before deploying them into alien-infested hotspots offering lucrative rewards, should they complete their objectives. Every moment wasted will give the enemy more chances to mobilize. Move fast, hit hard, and extract your assets safely.
