‘Alien: Earth’ Soundtrack Pressed on Vinyl by Mutant

The first season of “Alien: Earthcame to an end last night, but you’ll soon be able to relive its soundtrack on vinyl from Mutant.

Composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, The Umbrella Academy), the album is due out on December 5 for $45.

The 2xLP album is pressed on 140-gram cobalt blue colored vinyl. It’s housed in a gatefold jacket featuring artwork by Luke Preece inside an acrylic O-card.

Mutant writes, “Equal parts haunting and hypnotic, the soundtrack pays polite homage to the maestro Jerry Goldsmith while existing wholly on its own.”

Created by showrunner Noah Hawley (“Fargo,” “Legion”), all eight episodes of “Alien: Earth” are now on Hulu.

In the year 2120, five corporations – Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold – wield the power of nations, and proprietary advancements in technology provide the promise of a new tomorrow.

When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.

Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Essie Davis, Lily Newmark, Erana James, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Kit Young, Diêm Camille, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver star.

Daniel Kurland wrote in his review of the series premiere that Russo’s score “provides a haunting, retro quality that taps into the ideal uncomfortable atmosphere for this story.”
