An official X (formerly Twitter) account opened for the Akuyaku Reijo no Naka no Hito ( The One Within the Villainess ) series today announced that an anime adaptation is in production. Additional details about the project, such as cast, staff and release date, were not confirmed at the time of reporting. The manga version placed eighth in the last AnimeJapan "Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking" poll. A manga adaptation by Nazuna Shiraumi ran in Comic Lake magazine from November 2021 to May 2025, with the sixth volume due to be released on June 25. The series has reportedly sold over two million copies to date. The story follows Emi, who is reincarnated as an otome game villainess named Remilia.
