The official website for "Aikatsu! Memorial Stage," a new project to screen selected episodes from the Aikatsu! TV anime series, released a trailer for its first compilation film titled Aikatsu! Memorial Stage ~Kagayaki no Unit Cup ("Shining Unit Cup)~ . The film covers the Unit Cup arc told in the TV anime's third season. Aikatsu! Memorial Stage ~Kagayaki no Unit Cup Trailer In this arc, the idols of Starlight Academy have to find different partners from their original units to compete in the Unit Cup. The protagonist Akari Ozora, who has originally formed the unit “Luminous” with Sumire Hikami and Hinaki Shinjo, will form a new unit “Skips♪” with her junior Madoka Amahane for this event. "The two personalities that formed the unit overlap and create many new attractions. Let's look back on those memories on the theater screen with you all!" Akari says in the trailer. Aikatsu! Memorial Stage ~Kagayaki no Unit Cup will screen in 43 theaters across Japan for a limited three week run starting June 20. Following series include Aikatsu Stars! (April 2016 to March 2018), Aikatsu Friends! (April 2018 to September 2019), Aikatsu on Parade! (October 2019 to March 2020), and Aikatsu Planet!
