THE FIRST TAKE is a YouTube channel that tasks musicians and singers with performing songs in a single take. The channel was launched on November 15, 2019, and currently has 11.5 million registered subscribers. In its latest Episode 615 , released on November 28, Chihaya Kisaragi (CV: Asami Imai)—an idol originating from the multimedia franchise THE iDOLM@STER, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year—made her first appearance. This marks the first time in the channel's six-year history that an anime or game character has performed. Chihaya sings "YAKUSOKU" ("Promise"), the ending theme for Episode 20 of the TV anime THE iDOLM@STER , aired in November 2011, with a special piano arrangement created exclusively for THE FIRST TAKE. She said, "I believe songs are living things. The promise we made together back then has now transformed, and I feel it will surely be passed on as a promise for many people. I sang with that thought in mind." This will be the first time in the 20-year history of THE iDOLM@STER that a live concert featuring only one idol will be held at the internationally famous arena in Tokyo. The concert was originally planned to be held for one day, January 24. However, due to the overwhelming number of ticket applications following the announcement, an additional performance was decided upon the very next day, January 25.
