The Apothecary Diaries Series Surpasses 45 Million Copies in Print

Japanese publisher Imagica Infos announced on November 26 that Natsu Hyuuga's The Apothecary Diaries series had surpassed 45 million copies in print. The figure is the combined number of both the original novel by Hyuuga and the two manga adaptations by Nekokurage and Minoji Kurata. As previously reported , the series reached the 40 million mark in March 2025, meaning another five million copies were added in just eight months. The Apothecary Diaries Novel Volume 16 Cover The Apothecary Diaries novel series started releasing from the publisher's light novel imprint Hero Bunko in August 2014, and 16 volumes are released in Japan to date. As of late September 2023, prior to the broadcast of the first season of the TV anime, the series' cumulative circulation stood at 24 million copies. By the end of the first TV anime season, it had surpassed 33 million copies, reaching the milestone of 40 million copies in February 2025. After the airing of the anime's second season, which aired in Japan from January to July 2025, it has now surpassed 45 million copies. The upcoming TV anime's third season will be split into two cours, with the first cour airing in October 2026 and the second starting in April 2027. Additionally, a theatrical film set for release in December 2026, featuring an entirely new story written by Hyuuga. This exhibition features a completely original story written by the author Natsu Hyuuga, which will be specially unveiled on a weekly basis, allowing visitors to further immerse themselves in the world of the original novel.
