Fresh off the rave SXSW reviews for existential horror hangout movie It Ends, which is still awaiting release, director Alex Ullom is back with his next horror movie, 4 X 4: The Event.
Deadline reports that Spooky Pictures and Image Nation have come on board to produce Ullom’s 4 X 4: The Event, which is being compared to Battle Royale, Saw, and Climax.
“Plot details for 4 X 4: The Event are under wraps, but the film is described as Battle Royale meets Saw meets Climax,” Deadline notes in this afternoon’s exclusive report.
Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Pet Sematary) and Roy Lee (Weapons, It, The Ring) will produce alongside Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath’s Divide / Conquer (Black Phone 2, M3GAN). Image Nation’s CEO Ben Ross will executive produce.
Stay tuned for more on 4 X 4: The Event as we learn it. We’re also keeping an eye on Alex Ullom’s It Ends, which doesn’t yet have a release date but is expected sometime very soon.
