Lin Shaye Says ‘Insidious 6’ Is Not the End: “We’re Just Getting Started!”

Lin Shaye is shutting down rumors that the upcoming Insidious 6 is her last film or the final film in the franchise.

“False information that this Insidious is ‘my last film’ and/or is ‘last film of the franchise,’” the horror icon shared on Facebook. “We are just getting started!”

Insidious 6 wrapped production last week in Australia for an August 21, 2026 release via Sony and Blumhouse.

Shaye returns to star as Elise Rainier alongside Amelia Eve (“The Haunting of Bly Manor”), Brandon Perea (Nope), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (“Legends of Tomorrow”), Sam Spruell (“Fargo”), and Island Austin.

Jacob Chase (Come Play) directs from a script he co-wrote with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2, Orphan).

Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell produce, with Johnson-McGoldrick, Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones as executive producers.

Insidious launched in 2011, followed by 2013’s Insidious: Chapter 2, 2015’s Insidious: Chapter 3, 2018’s Insidious: The Last Key, and 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door — which became franchise’s the highest grossing movie.
