[Exclusive] New ‘Out Fishing’ Screenshots Tease The Horrific Weirdness in Store

Developer Mūn Mūn Games took some time out with developing their open world horror fishing game Out Fishing to send over some exclusive screenshots of the game. The screenshots in question show off the weirdness you’ll encounter while out fishing in the woods, including one of the many nightmarish creatures as your prize.

The premise is pretty straightforward: you head to an abandoned lake for some old fashioned fishing. However, the lake itself isn’t quite right. Things really get creepy after sunset, as things start moving through the forest, hiding in the fog, and sometimes decide to take a dip in the lake.

Still, you must persevere, since you need that money. You’ll need to search for rare fish using that Special Bait, but as mentioned, you’ll also uncover scattered remnants of the past. Time is your enemy, but the farther you go, the closer you get to the truth. Fish, sell your catch, upgrade your gear, and build up your camp. The rarer the fish, the bigger the profit.

Fishing in the game is more than just casting a line; it’s about exploration, curiosity, and getting a little dirt under your fingernails. That translates into having to dig for bait on any soft ground. The bait in question delves into three categories: Basic, Shop, and Special.

Basic Bait can be found almost anywhere, which is perfect for casual fishing and early-game discovery. Shop Bait, as the name implies, is available for purchase when you need a quick boost or want to try something new. Special Bait, on the other hand, is hidden in specific locations tied to the story. These rare finds attract unique fish and unlock the game’s deeper lore.

And of course, judging from some of the screenshots, you’ll be doing more than just fishing once Out Fishing launches on Steam.
